Ingredients Chicken - 1 kg Onion - 5 nos Tomato - 2 nos Green chilli - 4 nos Ginger - 1 nos Garlic - 7 or 8 nos Curry leaves - 3 or 4 sprigs Coriander leaves - small hand full Grated coconut - 1 cup Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp Garam masala- 1 tbsp fennel seed - 1 tsp Black pepper - 1 tsp Cumin seed - 1 tsp Method Firstly we have to cut and cleaned the chicken . Then wash and drain them well, set aside. Heat oil in a pan add grated coconut ,saute them well. Then add fennel seed ,black pepper ,cumin seed and curry leaves saute and roasted till they become light brown colour . Remove from fire and keep aside. Then grind the roasted coconut mix into fine paste Heat oil in a pan ,add chopped ginger and garlic ,green chilli and chopped onion saute them well. Then add salt and saute until the shallots are translucent Then add turmeric powderer ,red chilli powder ,coriander powder and garam masala Saute then well. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute well Add some cleaned chicken and combine them well. Then pour sufficent amount of water and mix them well. Cover and cook till the chicken become soften. Then add grounded masala and mix them well. then add little amount of water and mix them well Then cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes Then finally sprinkle some garam masala and cumin powder Pour little amount of oil Then add chopped coriander leaves and ,mix them well. Remove from fire and keep a side. Serve the tasty malabar chicken curry with chappathi. Ingredients for chappathi Wheat flour - 2 cup Water - 1 or 2 cup Oil - 2 or 3 tbsp Salt - 1 or 2 tsp Method Take a large bowl add wheat flour Then springle some salt and oil ,mix them well. Then add water little by little And know well for a few minutes until its combined well. Then rest for 20 to 30 minutes . Now take small size dough . Roll the balls in the palms to smoothen it Dust both sides of the flattened balls with some flour and roll it using a roller pin and board Heat a pan add placed a chappathi on it Cook both sides by flipping the chappathi Remove from pan and set aside. Serve the chappathi with Malabar chicken curry.

Saute well..when raw smell goes add big onion,small onion ,green chilli and salt ..saute well When the onion become light brown in colour ,add all the masalas (chilly powders,turmeric powder,coriander powder d garam masala ) and mix well and stir well until the raw smell of the masala goes Then add tomato pieces and salt … Close the pan with a lid and allow it to cook for 5 minutes in a low flame .. Open the kadai and mix well .. Then add cleaned chicken pieces into the masala and mix well.Close the pan and cook for 10 minutes in medium flame stirring occasionally .. By that time u can see water coming out from the chicken,let the chicken cook in that water only .. .In between open the kadai and stir well . U can check the salt..(If necessary add salt).When the chicken is cooked(chicken will be soft by that time ) add garam masala powder,curry leaves and hot water.. Cook for another few minutes or until the gravy become medium thick . By that time u can see the gravy to be dark brown in colour and oil will be coming out .. now add green chilli slices and tomato ..and lots of curry leaves .. close the kadai for few minutes .. Transfer in to the serving bowl and serve with appam,chapati,pathiri etc… If u want u can add thick coconut milk in the end ..It increases the taste and best combination with pathiri..:) U can adjust the spice level according to ur taste ..:) small tip: Actually the most diff thing is to cut onion when we make chicken or biriyani etc… ..Dont waste ur tears😉 .So from now no more tears…!! So when we start making chicken or anyother recipe first peel the onion and wash them and keep it inside the freezer for min half an hour .And keep doing other works..Remember to close the onion( u can put them in a air tight paper bag or in a vessel with a lid) coz if we keep onion in the freezer with out closing,the smell will be remain in the freezer for long .. So after half an hour take it from the freezer and slice .. Now look at the magic…no more tears and very easy to cut ….!!! Hope u will try this out … Love :) Veena

Add the spices for marination and use your hands to coat chicken pieces completely. Cover with a lid and allow it to sit at room temperature for 2-hours. 2) In a large non-stick pot, heat some coconut oil. As soon as the oil gets hot add Dried red chilies, Mustard Seeds, Black Peppercorns, Curry Leaves, Cinnamon Sticks (broken) and Chopped Ginger. Saute this on medium low heat for 30-seconds. The mustard seeds will splatter so keep your face and hands away. 3) Add Desiccated coconut and toss until it turns light brown and aromatic. 4) Add Onions and garlic. cook until onions turns soft and translucent. Add Tomato Puree and cook until the rawness of tomato goes away.Add Red chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Black Pepper Powder, Turmeric Powder, and Madras Curry Powder.
