F1 Mercedes News ■ The Saudi Grand Prix proved that although Mercedes is on the right path, they have much more to do before they can challenge Red Bull seriously. The Saudi Grand Prix ended with Red Bull taking up the top 2 spots on the podium, Mercedes in 4th and 5th position, and Fernando Alonso squeezed right between the two teams. Overall, the team seemed faster than in Bahrain, and their tire degradation was much better than in the last race as Lewis Hamilton managed to race on the medium tires for 30 laps straight with still some grip left in the rubber. Red Bull was still one second quicker per lap than both Mercedes and Aston Martin, and they seemed untouchable throughout the race. F1 Alonso Aston Martin and FIA News ■ The Saudi Grand Prix proved that although Mercedes is on the right path, they have much more to do before they can challenge Red Bull seriously. The Saudi Grand Prix ended with Red Bull taking up the top 2 spots on the podium, Mercedes in 4th and 5th position, and Fernando Alonso squeezed right between the two teams. Overall, the team seemed faster than in Bahrain, and their tire degradation was much better than in the last race as Lewis Hamilton managed to race on the medium tires for 30 laps straight with still some grip left in the rubber. Red Bull was still one second quicker per lap than both Mercedes and Aston Martin, and they seemed untouchable throughout the race.
